Special Education Teacher - Minneapolis, Minnesota
Become an essential support in the educational journey of students by serving as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school community near Minneapolis, MN. Your workday will align with the specific site’s schedule—middle schools begin early, generally from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, while elementary schedules range from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm depending on whether classes start at 8:40 or 9:25 am. Flexibility and adaptability are key as you transition between various school cultures and student groups.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Previous experience or a strong interest in creating inclusive classroom environments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Comfort adapting to varying school schedules and classroom dynamics.
- Ability to collaborate well with general education staff, support staff, and families.
- Knowledge of IEP process and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, modifying lessons to suit individual student goals.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, administrators, and related service providers.
- Maintain accurate records and ongoing progress reports.
