Special Education Teacher in Minneapolis, MN

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners by supporting preschool-aged children with disabilities in a center-based Early Childhood Special Education setting. This contract opportunity, located near Minneapolis, MN, offers the chance to nurture children ages 3-5 in an engaging, play-based environment designed to promote cognitive, social, emotional, communicative, and physical growth. Through intentional routines and collaborative support, you’ll help lay the foundation for academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to address student needs
- Conduct assessments and classroom observations to guide instruction, eligibility, and goal-setting
- Embed intervention services into daily play routines for more effective learning
- Track and report student progress in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Collaborate closely with families, teachers, and related service providers to foster student development
- Offer guidance and mentoring to paraprofessionals in the classroom
- Apply positive behavior support strategies and foster social-emotional skills to encourage participation and engagement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) licensure
- Previous experience working with preschool children with disabilities
- Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to create inclusive and supportive classroom environments
- Skill in adapting and modifying instruction within a play-based curriculum
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Morning class: 9:30 AM–12:00 PM; Afternoon class: 1:00 PM–3:30 PM
- Center-based at Centerview Elementary
