This contract opportunity is designed as a backfill placement for a center-based classroom serving students with developmental cognitive disabilities. You’ll be working on-site, surrounded by dedicated colleagues and supportive resources.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Credential in Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (required)
- Experience working with students in a center-based classroom is highly valued
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Ability to implement individualized education programs and maintain compliance with state requirements
- Professional, compassionate approach to managing diverse student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support tailored to students with cognitive disabilities
- Develop, adapt, and implement effective lesson plans and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with classroom aides, related service providers, and families for comprehensive student support
- Collect and track student progress through data-driven assessment and documentation
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with school administration and parents to update on student achievements and needs
- Remain on-site throughout the assignment (virtual or remote teaching not permitted)
Position Details and Perks:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Contract position with assignment through May 28, 2027
