Special Education Teacher - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Developmental Cognitive Disabilities Teacher for a contract position beginning at the end of February and continuing through early June of 2027. This full-time opportunity, located near Minneapolis, centers on working with a dedicated group of K-2 students at an elementary school. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm, with an approximate caseload of 10 students in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Special Education Teacher credentials and Minnesota teaching licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience supporting students with developmental cognitive disabilities at the elementary level preferred
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs), academic interventions, and modified curriculum design
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to creating inclusive and adaptive learning environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with each student’s IEP goals
- Implement evidence-based interventions and track student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student growth
- Foster a positive, engaging, and structured classroom atmosphere
- Conduct assessments, maintain thorough documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
