Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Credential (or eligibility to obtain)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities and learning needs
- Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to connect with students, families, and staff
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet students at their level
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction as necessary
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, administrators, and other specialists
- Conduct IEP meetings and maintain detailed, compliant documentation
- Support a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom culture
- Utilize assistive technology and other resources to support diverse learners
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
