Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Valid state teaching license with Special Education endorsement
- Previous experience teaching in special education settings preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ unique needs
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to create inclusive classroom environments
- Attend and prepare for IEP meetings, maintaining comprehensive student documentation
- Manage classroom behavior and promote a supportive, positive learning climate
- Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and life skills as needed
