Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois LBS1 certification is required
- Previous experience teaching in a special education setting preferred
- Strong ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to maintaining a supportive, engaging classroom environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction within a high school classroom, tailored to students’ unique learning needs
- Design, implement, and monitor IEPs and modifications, tracking progress toward academic and behavioral goals
- Partner with general education teachers and support staff to ensure best practices for inclusion
- Provide a positive, structured learning atmosphere to promote student achievement and independence
- Maintain accurate records, complete necessary documentation, and participate in IEP meetings as required
