Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement
- Previous experience teaching at the elementary level, preferably within special education
- Proficient in developing and modifying instructional strategies for students with diverse learning needs
- Understanding of IEP development, goal tracking, and progress monitoring
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Collaborative mindset, able to work alongside faculty, parents, and support staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated reading and math instruction to elementary special education students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), documenting progress and modifying goals as necessary
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to assess student progress and adapt strategies
- Communicate regularly with families, providing updates on academic and behavioral progress
- Participate in professional development and maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations
