Special Education Teacher - New Bedford, MA

Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education License (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s preferred
- Experience working with K-12 students in various educational settings
- Strong ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
- Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver customized lesson plans that accommodate varied learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement inclusive practices
- Develop, write, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed to promote academic and social growth
- Communicate regularly with families to update them on progress and goals
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
