Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Special Education License (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s preferred
  • Experience working with K-12 students in various educational settings
  • Strong ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
  • Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver customized lesson plans that accommodate varied learning styles and abilities
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement inclusive practices
  • Develop, write, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
  • Assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed to promote academic and social growth
  • Communicate regularly with families to update them on progress and goals
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
