Special Education Teacher in Silt, CO
Make a difference in the lives of students and shape a supportive educational environment as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting near Silt, Colorado. This full-time contract assignment begins August 17, 2026, and runs through June 3, 2027. There are two available positions: one dedicated to students in grades 6–8 and one serving those in grades 9–12, both focusing on individuals with mild to moderate needs and a manageable caseload of approximately 25–30 students each.
Your expertise will help create a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere, all while working onsite, closely collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and caregivers.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Teaching License required
- SPED Endorsement mandatory
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with mild to moderate behavioral needs
- Ability to assist with toileting needs if necessary
- Passion for fostering growth and advocating for student success
- Skill in adapting curriculum and strategies to diverse learning styles
Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student learning plans
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning climate that encourages student engagement
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Maintain open, supportive communication with families and caregivers
- Document student progress and participate in regular team meetings
- Support students with daily routines and, as needed, with personal care
