Special Education Teacher in New Castle, DE

Key Qualifications:
- Valid Delaware Special Education Teaching license (required)
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly supporting students with autism
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Dedicated to fostering an inclusive, nurturing, and effective learning environment
- Comfortable with 37.5-hour workweeks, Monday through Friday, 8:25 am to 3:55 pm (30-minute paid lunch included)
- Willingness to complete required background checks, including $85 CBC fingerprinting
Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective, differentiated instruction tailored to diverse learning needs within an elementary autism program
- Create, update, and track IEPs, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and families
- Foster a supportive classroom climate that encourages student engagement, independence, and social-emotional growth
- Provide regular assessments and progress monitoring, adapting strategies as needed

- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and state educational standards
