Step into a rewarding role supporting students’ growth as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic contract opportunity beginning August 2026 and extending through June 2027. Make a meaningful impact working with grades 8–12 (with no more than two grade levels assigned) and a manageable caseload of 23 students. Your focus will include push-in support for English classrooms as well as leading two small group English classes, providing both individualized and group instruction in an inclusive academic environment.
Qualifications:
- Active Delaware Special Education Teacher certification required
- Prior experience in Special Education (SPED) settings
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for team-based approaches
- Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs
- Background in delivering services within English language classrooms is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Deliver push-in special education services in mainstream English classes, working alongside general education teachers
- Lead two separate small group English classes, tailoring instruction to accommodate IEP goals
- Manage and monitor the progress for a caseload of up to 23 students, documenting growth and implementing accommodations
- Develop and update IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Foster an engaging, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Maintain regular communication with colleagues, parents, and service providers
