Special Education Teacher | New Market, Maryland

Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher for the relevant elementary age group
- Experience managing behavioral self-contained classrooms or similar special education environments
- Proficiency in developing and adapting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaborative skills
- Ability to cultivate positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with behavioral and academic needs
- Assess academic performance, social-emotional growth, and behavioral progress
- Develop and update IEPs, collaborating with support staff and families
- Utilize proactive behavioral management and de-escalation techniques
- Maintain detailed progress documentation, contributing to ongoing student support
