Special Education Teacher - New Market, Maryland

Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education (SPED) certification
- Proven experience working with special education students, ideally in a school environment
- Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong organizational skills and a flexible approach to addressing diverse learning needs
- Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to a caseload of 15 students within the Learning for Life Program
- Develop and modify curriculum materials to suit individual student abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student success
- Maintain up-to-date records, including progress monitoring and IEP documentation
- Engage with families to build partnerships that encourage student growth and achievement
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented atmosphere within the school community
Working hours are from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, allowing you to maintain meaningful connections with students while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
