Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher working with pre-school students in an itinerant role. This opportunity is for a contract position serving the Hanover area and parts of Adams County, with a home base in New Oxford. From July 1, 2026, through September 11, 2026, you'll support a diverse early childhood population across multiple sites, ensuring vital services are delivered where they’re needed most.
Your experience will help foster learning and growth in young students during their formative years. The schedule runs from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, providing consistency and meaningful engagement throughout your assignment.
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education (must be submitted with resume)
- Prior experience working with pre-school or early intervention students highly preferred
- Ability to travel daily to various schools and sites within the service region
- Reliable transportation is required
- Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt in different educational environments
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with families, staff, and service providers
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to pre-school children with special needs
- Travel between school sites and early childhood centers according to the itinerant model
- Develop and implement IEPs, assess student progress, and document growth
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and families to ensure student success
- Create inclusive, engaging classroom environments tailored to student needs
- Maintain clear communication with administration and participate in required meetings
