Special Education Teacher | Newark, Delaware

Key Qualifications:
- Current Delaware Special Education Teaching license (must be attached in PDF)
- Previous experience with elementary-aged students, particularly in autism support, strongly preferred
- Ability to manage and engage a caseload of students with diverse needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with families and colleagues
- Commitment to professional responsibilities, including completion of required $85 CBC fingerprinting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals for students with autism in an elementary classroom
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet a variety of learning needs and abilities
- Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions and positive supports
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and parents to foster student success
- Maintain accurate and timely student records, data collection, and progress reports
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and other school-based initiatives as required
Role Details:
- Contract position: February 3, 2026 – June 11, 2026
- Monday through Friday, 8:25 am – 3:55 pm, 37.5 hours per week
- 30-minute paid lunch break daily
- Elementary autism support caseload in a friendly, collaborative school environment
