What we’re looking for:
- Active Special Education Teacher licensure and credentials for Nebraska (or eligibility to obtain)
- Recent experience working with elementary and/or middle school students in special education settings
- In-depth knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and other support staff
- Skilled at fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction in resource classrooms for students with a range of learning needs
- Conduct assessments and collaborate on developing, writing, and implementing IEPs
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to individualize learning and support academic growth
- Track, document, and communicate student progress to families and school teams
- Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and team planning sessions
- Serve as an advocate for students, helping to strengthen positive behaviors and social-emotional skills
