Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid New York State Teaching License with high school endorsement
- Certification required for teaching in an ED classroom setting
- Experience supporting high school students with emotional or behavioral needs strongly preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate openly with colleagues and students
- Flexibility to serve as either a Teacher’s Assistant or long-term substitute as needed
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, inclusive instruction to students in an ED classroom
- Foster a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
- Adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Monitor and document student progress, implementing behavioral or academic interventions as appropriate
- Work onsite only, ensuring direct student support and a collaborative presence with school staff
- Assist in implementing IEP goals and accommodations
