Step into a key support role in education as a Medi-Cal Clerical Specialist, contributing to the success of students and staff near the Palm Desert area. This full-time contract position will begin in September, following board approval, and continue through the end of June. You'll play a vital part in ensuring Medi-Cal processes are managed accurately and efficiently, supporting district operations behind the scenes.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working with Medi-Cal request processing required
- Strong understanding of Medicaid administrative procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Proven ability to coordinate and verify timekeeping and reporting data
- Strong communication skills and confidence in following up with staff
- Ability to conduct monthly meetings and prepare relevant documentation
- Bilingual Spanish ability is strongly preferred, enabling effective communication across diverse groups
- No special licenses or certifications required
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and process Medi-Cal requests, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Oversee and verify random Medicaid time surveys, liaising with SPED professionals and district staff as needed
- Ensure compliance with all procedures regarding timekeeping and submit timely reports
- Organize and participate in monthly Medi-Cal meetings to confirm procedural adherence
- Maintain up-to-date records and support staff in following Medicaid documentation requirements
