We're seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher eager to work in a Resource Specialist Program (RSP) environment focused entirely on PreK students. In this contract position, you’ll play a fundamental role by completing PreK assessments and providing expert guidance to a small, manageable caseload of approximately 5-6 students.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential
- Previous experience with PreK populations and special education assessments
- Strong understanding of child development principles related to early intervention
- Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom for young children
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive PreK assessments for students requiring special education services
- Develop individual education programs (IEPs) focused on early interventions
- Work closely with a small caseload, tailoring recommendations and supports for 5-6 PreK students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure a cohesive approach
- Engage with families, providing regular updates and guidance throughout the assessment process
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with timelines for evaluations and reports
