Special Education Teacher in Parachute, CO
Make an impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic Colorado school community. This full-time contract opportunity spans the 2026–2027 academic year and offers the ability to work onsite with dedicated educators and staff focused on individualized student success. You’ll have the chance to guide students with mild to moderate needs, providing tailored instruction and support within a collaborative and resource-rich environment.
There are two caseloads available—middle school (grades 6–8) and high school (grades 9–12)—each with approximately 25–30 students. As a valued member of the team, you’ll promote academic growth, social development, and positive behavior in partnership with students, families, and colleagues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Colorado Teaching License required
- Special Education (SPED) Endorsement must be current
- Experience supporting students with mild/moderate behavioral needs
- Willingness to assist with toileting needs as appropriate
- Prior experience in a school setting preferred
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Collaborate with general educators, related service providers, and parents/guardians
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure student progress
- Employ effective classroom management strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Cultivate a positive, respectful learning climate for all students
