Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary learners for the upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity spans August 31, 2026, to June 17, 2027, in a supportive school environment near Paterson, NJ. You’ll work Monday through Friday, 7:45am–4:00pm, serving either 2nd & 3rd graders or 1st & 2nd graders in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math.
Your primary responsibility will involve providing Out of Class Resource (OCR) services and push-in support for ELA and Math. Partner closely with general education teachers to foster inclusive learning and deliver effective instructional strategies tailored to student needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid DOE Certification required
- Strong ELA and Math instructional experience, especially in elementary settings
- Proven classroom management and effective instructional practices
- Experience with resource support and co-teaching models
- Flexibility and a collaborative mindset
What You’ll Do:
- Implement individualized and small group instruction for ELA and Math
- Provide push-in support to 1st & 2nd grade students, collaborating with general education staff
- Utilize classroom management strategies that encourage student growth and engagement
- Adapt curriculum materials to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Monitor and document student progress, communicating regularly with parents and team members
- Contribute to IEP meetings as needed
