Step into a meaningful role supporting high school students as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) for a full-time, temporary assignment. This contract role runs from December 16 through approximately June 21, following a full-day schedule from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD)
- Experience teaching at the high school level, particularly in special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and tracking
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet a diverse range of learning needs
- Effective classroom management and positive behavior support strategies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instruction and support to high school students with disabilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are met
- Track student progress and document outcomes according to school and legal guidelines
- Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress and concerns
- Foster a supportive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
