Special Education Teacher - Pawtucket, RI

You’ll take the lead in a self-contained or sub-separate classroom, providing tailored instruction, structure, and support to help students succeed both academically and behaviorally. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current, valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education teaching license for Secondary level
- Ability to demonstrate or complete Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency within one year (in line with the Right to Read Act)
- Prior experience working with students with EBD or severe behavioral needs preferred
- Strong skills in classroom management, behavior intervention strategies, and differentiated lesson planning
- Collaborative mindset and excellent communication abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver highly individualized instruction and behavioral interventions in a designated classroom setting
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with student goals and district/state guidelines
- Collaborate with support staff, related service providers, and parents/guardians to foster student growth
- Support a positive, safe, and predictable classroom environment
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and participation
