Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education is required
- Active Illinois Special Education licensure (LBS1 credential)
- Experience working in a school environment is preferred, but enthusiastic new graduates are encouraged
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A passion for supporting learners with diverse needs and abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student
- Provide differentiated instruction, academic support, and adaptive strategies
- Communicate with families, therapists, and staff to promote student progress
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements
- Create a supportive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment
