Key Qualifications:
- Valid Alabama SPED licensure (verification available through the Alabama teaching certification website)
- Certification in K-6 for the inclusion role; certification in 6-12 or K-6 for self-contained and inclusion considered
- Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs is preferred
- Commitment to creating a nurturing, student-centered learning environment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student goals
- Adapt and differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Provide direct instruction in inclusive and/or self-contained settings, depending on assignment
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Employ evidence-based instructional strategies and positive behavior interventions
