Special Education Teacher - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting young learners in community preschool settings around the Philadelphia area. This contract role focuses on providing essential services to approximately 30 students, each requiring specialized instruction to thrive in their educational environments. You’ll serve as an itinerant teacher, visiting multiple preschools throughout the week and delivering targeted support to students with varying needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania certification in PK-4 and/or Special Education (emergency permits are not accepted)
- Experience or strong interest in early childhood special education
- Ability to organize a rotating caseload and travel to various preschool locations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with caregivers, educators, and team members
- Commitment to providing individualized instruction and maintaining accurate student records
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support a caseload of around 30 preschoolers across the local community
- Conduct assessments to tailor instruction to each student’s strengths and needs
- Work with preschool staff to integrate specialized educational strategies
- Collaborate with families to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Maintain clear documentation in compliance with state requirements
- Participate in ongoing training and receive hands-on support to ensure your success
This position offers a consistent schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with guidance and training provided as you transition into this rewarding role.
