These full-time roles require onsite presence and are positioned in high-priority schools across the district, all within a 30-minute commute of Fairfax, Central, and Hayden campuses.
Your background in providing specialized instruction will be instrumental in classrooms focused on Inclusion/SUCCESS, Practical, CBT (life skills/transition/functional academics), and STRIVE (self-contained behavioral, autism, and structured support environments). We’re seeking educators who possess a deep understanding of students with emotional disabilities, diverse eligibility areas, and those building prosocial and self-regulation skills.
Qualifications:
- Valid AZ Secondary Teaching License
- Active K-12 Special Education Certificate
- Current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Familiarity with federal, state, and district policies surrounding special education
- Prior experience with students considered at-risk, limited English proficiency, or exceptional educational needs
- E.E.E.I. training, or willingness to attend scheduled staff development
- Experience implementing and documenting special education services and compliance paperwork
- Strong adaptability for multiple school settings and a variety of caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction for caseloads ranging from 6-25 students, depending on classroom assignment
- Support student development in life skills, social-emotional learning, and functional academics
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom community
- Engage in ongoing professional development and team collaboration
