Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Credential authorized for mild/moderate or moderate/severe disabilities
- Experience designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Background in middle school education and working with students with moderate to severe needs preferred
- Strong skills in classroom management and adaptive curriculum development
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom community
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in a self-contained SDC, addressing diverse academic and behavioral needs
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
- Conduct assessments and track student progress toward measurable objectives
- Collaborate with paraeducators, related service providers, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Cultivate a positive, engaging learning environment that encourages participation and growth
- Adapt instructional materials and techniques to ensure accessibility for all students
