You'll work closely with two small groups: an Autism-focused classroom of around six students and another group with varied disabilities of about eight students. Your expertise will help foster growth, independence, and achievement in these unique learners, all while building positive daily connections. Ideal candidates will bring:
- Certification as a Special Education Teacher (active and in good standing)
- Experience teaching students with Autism and multiple disabilities highly preferred
- Compassion, adaptability, and strong communication skills
- Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborative mindset, working effectively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
- Strong classroom management and organization skills
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering engaging instruction tailored to students’ needs
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting strategies to support success
- Maintaining IEPs and accurate documentation of student achievement
- Cultivating a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicating regularly with parents, staff, and service providers
- Participating in meetings and ongoing professional development
The full-time schedule offers a healthy work-life balance: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm, and Fridays 8:30 am – 1:00 pm.
