The caseload involves teaching students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities, some of whom are non-verbal or require toileting support. Working closely with other dedicated professionals and building new skills ensures every day brings growth, collaboration, and accomplishment.
Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification (state-appropriate or willing to obtain)
- Experience with specially designed instruction required/preferred
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) experience highly valued
- Background with severe/profound needs, including non-verbal and physically involved students
- Comfortable assisting with personal care (toileting support)
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to students in K–1 or 3–5 substantially separate classes
- Craft and implement IEPs and behavior plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Foster inclusive, supportive environments for diverse learners
- Work closely with support staff and RBTs
