Special Education Teacher in Cranston, RI

Ideal background and experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
- Demonstrated experience working with students in a special education setting, preferably at the middle and/or high school level.
- Ability to manage a classroom with diverse learning needs, adapting instruction for various abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with students, staff, and families.
- Collaborative mindset for working closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators.
- Solid understanding of IEP processes and compliance.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students in a self-contained environment.
- Manage classroom routines, ensuring a supportive and structured space for learning.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to maximize student engagement and support.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in coordination with the student support team.
- Communicate regularly with families, updating on progress and celebrating achievements.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
