Special Education Teacher in Raymond, CA
Step into a unique educational leadership opportunity as a Teacher On Special Assignment supporting special education initiatives throughout the Mariposa area. This full-time, contract role runs from August 2026 through June 2027 and provides a rewarding chance to positively impact TK-12th grade students by coaching and mentoring new special education teachers. Rather than leading a classroom, you’ll collaborate closely with the special education director to guide colleagues in IEP management, behavior strategies, and the effective use of SEIS documentation tools. Travel between eight district schools is required, though only as needed for educator support and progress check-ins.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist credential is required
- Demonstrated experience in special education teaching, particularly with IEPs and behavioral interventions
- Strong mentoring, communication, and coaching skills
- Comfortable navigating multiple school sites and supporting educators in a district-wide role
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel locally
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide and support new special education teachers in IEP compliance and SEIS software use
- Provide ongoing coaching regarding classroom management, intervention strategies, and best practices
- Collaborate with the SPED director on training initiatives and district-wide improvement plans
- Liaise with instructional staff across TK-12th grade settings
- Maintain accurate records and respond quickly to educator and student needs
