Special Education Teacher in Ringgold, GA

Key Qualifications:
- Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with endorsements in both Special and General Education for Pre-K
- Demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher or Paraprofessional, ideally with early childhood/pre-school age groups
- Ability to assist with toileting/diapering, feeding, and other daily living activities
- Comfort working with children who are non-verbal or have limited/verbal skills, as well as those exhibiting behavioral differences
- Strong communication skills and collaborative spirit for engaging with faculty, families, and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead or assist classroom activities designed for Pre-K students with varying cognitive, communicative, and physical abilities
- Implement and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with school specialists
- Provide hands-on support with toileting, diaper changes, and feeding routines
- Use evidence-based methods to encourage communication, social skills, and positive behaviors
- Track student progress and communicate milestones or concerns to guardians and therapy teams
- Foster a positive, respectful, and safe atmosphere tailored to each child's needs
