Special Education Teacher in Ringgold, GA
Make a meaningful impact working with young learners by bringing your expertise in special education to an elementary inclusion classroom for the upcoming school year and beyond. This contract position offers the opportunity to support a small caseload of PreK-2nd grade students, primarily focusing on first and second graders, in a collaborative environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Holds a valid GaPSC Teaching license with P-12 Special Education and Dyslexia endorsements
- Demonstrated background in teaching special education at the elementary level
- Experience working with students with autism, developmental delays, learning disabilities, and speech/language needs
- Skilled in fostering self-regulation and adaptive skills in young children
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with general education staff, specialists, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instructional support within an inclusion classroom setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations for a caseload of approximately 8–10 students
- Provide differentiated instruction, adapting materials and strategies for diverse learning needs
- Collaborate regularly with classroom teams and allied professionals
- Supervise and assist a student with a toileting goal, as needed, while maintaining dignity and fostering independence (no diapering required)
- Participate in all required planning days, professional development, and parent meetings
- Ensure compliance with all documentation, reporting, and district policies throughout the contract
The contract runs from July 29th through May 21st, 2027, and is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, allowing you to build meaningful relationships and create continuity for your students.
