Key Qualifications:
- Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special Education and General Education Endorsements appropriate for Pre-K age groups
- Previous experience working with children ages 3-5, specifically in a special education setting
- Strong understanding of developmental milestones and individualized instruction
- Comfort assisting students with toileting, diapering, feeding, and behavior intervention
- Creative, patient, and dedicated to providing a welcoming classroom atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction for a diverse caseload of Pre-K students with varying levels of need, often non-verbal or minimally verbal
- Implement and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), closely tracking student progress and adjusting teaching methods as required
- Support students through essential life skills, including toilet training, feeding, and positive behavior strategies
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to ensure consistency and progress
- Cultivate a safe, encouraging environment that fosters independence and communication
Position Details:
- Full-time contract (37.5 hours per week)
- Assignment extends through May 21, 2027
- Work in a collaborative team within a supportive elementary school setting
