Key Qualifications:
- Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate, with both Special Education and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K
- Experience in early childhood special education settings preferred
- Knowledge and patience supporting non-verbal or low-verbal students
- Comfortable assisting with feeding and toilet training/diapering as part of daily care
- Strong classroom management skills, especially with behavioral challenges
- Collaborative approach to working with paraeducators, therapists, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each child’s unique needs and developmental level
- Provide direct instruction and differentiated support in academic, social, and self-care skills
- Assist students with daily routines, including toileting, feeding, and transitions between activities
- Collect and monitor progress data on learning and behavioral goals
- Foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care and positive outcomes
