This contract position spans the 2026-2027 school year—August 4th, 2026 through May 21st, 2027—and is based within a vibrant Special Education Pre-K program. The role offers a consistent full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week and allows you to build meaningful relationships with a dedicated team of educators and families.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate
- Special and General Education Endorsements covering Pre-K age groups required
- Experience supporting preschool-aged students with diverse and complex needs
- Familiarity with non-verbal/low-verbal communication strategies and behavior management
- Comfort with assisting young children with feeding and toilet training
- Patience, flexibility, and strong collaboration skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Teach, nurture, and support children ages 3-5 in a Special Education Pre-K classroom setting
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) addressing a broad range of learning, behavioral, and physical needs
- Provide direct support for students with toileting/diapering, feeding, and self-care
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to foster communication and social-emotional growth for non-verbal/low-verbal students
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to promote the best outcomes for every child
- Maintain detailed records, progress notes, and effective communication with all stakeholders
