Two full-time positions are available: support an elementary Autism classroom (1st–3rd grade) or partner as a co-teacher in a 7th grade ELA classroom. Desired Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Virginia Special Education General Curriculum K-12 license
- Demonstrated experience in special education, particularly in elementary Autism support or middle school ELA co-teaching environments
- Strong ability to personalize instruction and adapt curriculum to meet a variety of learning needs
- Collaborative spirit, with outstanding communication skills for partnering with general educators, support staff, and families
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about fostering inclusive learning communities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment that encourages growth and independence
- Develop and implement instructional plans in alignment with curriculum standards and student goals
- Collaborate daily with general education teachers—in particular for the 7th grade ELA co-teaching assignment
- Maintain accurate records, provide timely progress updates, and participate in IEP meetings and relevant professional development
- Foster strong relationships with students, their families, and school staff to promote student success
