Key Qualifications:
- Valid Florida ESE Certification required
- K-6 or PreK-3 General Education Certification mandatory
- Previous experience teaching in a self-contained classroom, addressing multiple learning levels and exceptionalities
- Skilled in curriculum implementation while utilizing proven behavior management strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to partner with staff, families, and support personnel
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide daily instruction adapted to individual student needs in a self-contained ESE classroom
- Assess and monitor student progress, updating IEP goals and reporting outcomes
- Develop, structure, and implement engaging lesson plans to meet diverse learning styles
- Effectively manage classroom behaviors using evidence-based techniques
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and aides to best support student success
- Communicate regularly with families regarding progress, challenges, and support strategies
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to all district and state compliance requirements
- Advocate for students’ needs and encourage self-advocacy skills
