Special Education Teacher | Saint Paul, Minnesota
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a self-contained setting. This part-time contract position is located in the Saint Paul area and offers flexible scheduling options. You’ll provide instruction and individualized support within a collaborative Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program, with the assistance of two full-time paraeducators dedicated to your classroom. Enjoy a balanced workweek where Mondays are reserved for meetings and paperwork — ensuring you have the time and resources for effective lesson planning and collaboration.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- Valid Tier 4 Early Childhood Special Education Teacher license required
- Experience working in self-contained special education settings preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with paraeducators, therapists, and program staff
- Skilled in adapting curriculum and instruction to meet a variety of learner needs
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and implement IEPs for students in a self-contained classroom
- Collaborate with two full-time paraeducators to create a positive, structured learning environment
- Participate in meetings and complete required paperwork during designated time on Mondays
- Occasionally serve as a substitute educator within the ECSE program as needed
- Foster communication between families, therapists, and school staff
Flexible Work Schedule Options:
- Monday through Friday, 8:15am–12:15pm
- OR: Monday and Wednesday 8:15am–4:15pm, Tuesday 8:15am–12:15pm
