Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Completion of a state-approved special education teacher preparation program
- Valid Minnesota teaching license via the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board
- Competency in Standards of Effective Practice and core Special Education skills
- Student teaching/practicum experience required
- Preferred: experience with high school students, background in reading intervention and executive functioning, strong IEP compliance knowledge, and collaborative spirit
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach high school students in a structured learning environment focusing on reading intervention and executive functioning skills
- Manage a caseload of approximately 16–20 students
- Provide direct support in academic organization, planning, and learning strategies
- Collaborate with general education staff and support teams
- Develop, implement, and track progress on IEPs
- Ensure compliance with all state and district requirements
