Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience teaching students with diverse learning needs, including IEP development and implementation
- Ability to utilize differentiated instruction strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Commitment to maintaining a positive and adaptive classroom atmosphere
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive tools is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; Master’s preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized educational programs for students with disabilities, tailored to their strengths and goals
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed, maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and modify curriculum
- Attend IEP meetings and engage with families to ensure cohesive support systems
- Implement effective classroom management techniques and foster an encouraging environment
- Collect and analyze data to drive instructional planning and student growth
- Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in special education
