Elementary Special Education Teacher in Salem, OR

Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience teaching at the elementary level preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and staff
- Flexible, creative, and patient approach when adapting instruction to diverse learning needs
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction based on students’ IEPs in inclusive and/or pull-out settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to support each student’s unique needs
- Assess, track, and report students’ progress toward academic and developmental goals
- Create a welcoming, structured classroom environment that fosters learning and positive behavior
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, staff development, and school programs
- Maintain thorough and organized documentation in compliance with school and district guidelines
