Special Education Teacher | San Ramon, California
Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers interested in supporting students with moderate to severe needs. These contract positions offer the chance to make a genuine impact in a supportive educational environment from August 5, 2026, through June 7, 2027, with openings available near San Ramon and Antioch, CA.
There are four positions available, each working 35 hours per week and focusing on a specific caseload: K-2 (10 students), 3-5 (11 students), or 6-8 (14 students). This is a fantastic opportunity for educators passionate about enhancing learning experiences for students who require specialized instruction.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and active California Moderate/Severe or Extensive Support Needs (ESN) Special Education Credential (required)
- Previous experience teaching students with moderate to severe disabilities is highly desirable
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, student-centered learning environments
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies and materials to meet diverse learner needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction in alignment with IEP goals for your assigned caseload
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each student’s learning abilities
- Collaborate with speech therapists, paraprofessionals, parents, and support staff
- Track and document student progress, adjusting teaching plans as needed
- Create a safe and positive classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and social-emotional development
