Desired Qualifications:
- Current NYS Certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities, Birth to Grade 2 – required
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong teamwork skills to collaborate closely with speech, occupational, and physical therapy professionals
- Demonstrated knowledge of New York State Next Generation Learning Standards
- Ability to supervise and mentor classroom support staff
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, monitor, and adapt IEPs to support student development, ensuring appropriate accommodations and services are delivered
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary colleagues to design and maintain a cohesive educational experience
- Engage with classroom support staff, providing supervision and guidance to foster a positive, effective classroom environment
- Participate in regular professional development sessions to remain current with best practice in special education
- Implement engaging lessons aligned with state standards, tailored to the needs of integrated and self-contained classrooms
Enjoy a consistent full-time schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, on both school year and six-week summer programs. You’ll inspire growth and independence in a group of young children at facilities that nurture both collaboration and professional growth.
