Educators who thrive when working with students in life skills, transition, behavioral support, and inclusion settings are especially encouraged to apply. Each school assignment is onsite and well-suited for educators within a 30-minute commute to priority locations: Fairfax, Central, and Hayden.
Qualifications:
- Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching License
- Current K-12 Special Education Certificate
- IVP Fingerprint Card
- Proven experience with emotional disabilities, autism, or other exceptionalities
- Familiarity with life skills/transition programs, behavioral classrooms, and structured intensive support environments
- Demonstrated knowledge of special services documentation and compliance with federal, state, and district requirements
- Willingness to complete Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or participate in development sessions
- Awareness of diverse student needs: at-risk, limited English proficient, culturally diverse populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve assigned caseloads that may include inclusion, practical, CBT (life skills/functional academics), and STRIVE (self-contained behavior/Autism intensive support) groups
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure student growth and success
- Participate in district-required professional development July 21-24 and report with all staff July 27–May 21, 2027
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom climate to encourage academic and social/emotional progress
