Step into an exciting contract opportunity guiding middle school students as a Special Education Teacher with a resource caseload. This role is ideal for educators passionate about supporting learners with mild to moderate disabilities in a collaborative and nurturing environment.
With your expertise, you’ll deliver targeted math instruction from September 1st to June 4th, helping students build confidence and achieve measurable growth. Working approximately 37.5 hours per week, you’ll engage with a dynamic student population, develop individualized education plans, and foster strong communication with families and school staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Washington Special Education Teacher certification (WA SPED) and ESA credential required
- Background in teaching or supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Experience at the middle school level strongly preferred
- Solid grasp of instructional strategies tailored to diverse learning needs
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide small-group and individualized math instruction in a resource setting
- Assess student needs and craft personalized education plans
- Adapt lesson content to meet a variety of learning styles
- Track student progress while maintaining accurate records
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team decisions
- Build positive, respectful relationships with students and families
- Support inclusion efforts and foster a culture of acceptance
