Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher working with elementary students with mild to moderate needs in the Calabasas, CA area. This full-time role begins August 24, 2026 and continues through June 9, 2027, supporting a caseload of 22-23 students. Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and individualized educational programs tailored to students with mild/moderate disabilities
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with families, specialists, and other educators
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture fostering academic, social, and emotional development
- Assess student progress, adjust instructional strategies, and document outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide timely progress updates
- Engage in ongoing communication with parents, staff, and administrators to promote student success
- Uphold compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
Qualifications:
- Must hold active California mild/moderate Special Education teaching credentials
- Experience teaching elementary-level students with mild/moderate needs strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP process and documentation
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive classroom environments
