We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school team in Tennessee for the remainder of the current school year. This full-time opportunity involves working with a high school self-contained classroom, supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs while fostering academic growth and independence.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Special Education teaching license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Strong classroom management and behavior support skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, teachers, and related service providers
- Passion for helping students achieve academic and personal success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction within a self-contained high school classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet student needs
- Track student progress and maintain required documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support student outcomes
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
